Lab-Grown Diamond Prices

Market prices, and the reasons behind them

At ANNA DIAMOND, we believe price transparency is part of trust. On this page we explain, openly, why lab-grown diamonds cost what they cost, what the market prices look like, and how to think about your budget.

Why the Same Stone Costs Less

The reason is not quality but structure. First, there is no mining: no mine development, no moving tons of earth. Second, supply can be planned, because the stones are grown rather than found. Third, the route is short: no long chain of intermediaries between origin and market.

Compared at the same carat and grade, the stone itself is identical to a natural diamond. It costs less not because it is lesser, but because it is born and delivered differently.

In our own collection, lab-grown diamond jewellery starts from the 70,000 yen range at 0.1ct, up to a 5ct tennis necklace in the one-million-yen range.

Very Cheap Stones Have Reasons

Stones far below market price usually lean yellow or brown in colour, or are cut shallow and lose brilliance. Do not choose on price alone: check colour, clarity and cut grades, and ask for a certificate. At ANNA DIAMOND, we select only beautiful stones of F colour or above, VS clarity or above and Excellent cut, and craft them into jewellery together with Japanese artisans.

Thinking from Your Budget

Around 100,000 yen brings solitaire necklaces and eternity rings into view. Around 200,000 yen, 1ct-class rings and tennis bracelets. From 250,000 yen, the fuller carats, tennis bracelets of 2ct and full eternity rings, become realistic. A few examples from our collection:

Frequently Asked Questions

As a finished ring, 1ct-class pieces become realistic from the hundreds of thousands of yen, depending on grade and setting. The same grade in natural diamond commonly starts above one million yen.

Because there is no mining cost, supply can be planned, and the distribution route is short. The stone itself is chemically and optically identical to a natural diamond.

There is little resale market today, so we do not recommend them as assets. We recommend them as stones to wear and enjoy every day.
